iLounge leaks iPhone SDK details

The iLounge website, which focuses on Apple’s iPod and iPhone devices, has leaked information about Apple’s iPhone Software Developers Kit (SDK), prior to its debut at the forthcoming Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, to be held in San Francisco on 6 March.
According to the site, sources familiar with the SKD claim that it won’t give developers the free reign on what they build that they hoped for.
It is believed that the iTunes store will act as a hub allowing developers a payment metric, and acting as a searchable source for iPod and iPhone applications.
This will allow Apple to monitor SDK-based software releases for its devices, giving it the power to deny the releases if it sees fit.
It remains unclear whether Apple will need to approve subsequent bug fixes for applications which it approves. It may also wish to approve additions to applications, all of which could significantly slow the approval process.
iLounge suggests that the SDK will not give developers access to the Dock Connector hardware, making it impossible for them to create a hardware based accessory add-on. Bluetooth 2.0 may also be excluded.
However, integrated iPhone or iPod touch features, including the phone, Wi-Fi, and camera will be accessible to developers.
