Social networking, like many areas of the internet, is moving forward and expanding and changing.
GyPSii is a mobile social networking platform, one of a new breed that intends to allow users to take their virtual world around with them as they travel in the real world.
GyPSii are now hoping to expand mobile social networking by joining forces with Moblin-based Mobile Internet Devices(MIDs) which in turn are Intel(r) Atom processor Z5XX series based.
This will give GyPSii a much wider potential audience for its mobile social networking platform.
The premise of GyPSii is that it “connects people and content to places and networks†as with it mobile users can keep in touch with their virtual world not only at home but also on the move, allowing them to “share their real life experiences in the virtual worldâ€
GyPSii enables people to record their life based on their location, bringing together new mobile virtual and real world lifestyle with features such as User Generated Content, Locating Friends and Points of Interest.
Respected industry analyst, ABI Research, predicts that this new style of social networking will reach 90 million new enthusiasts over the next four years.
MID units are currently most popular with users involved in Gen Y, Social Networkers, as well as Young Gamers and the Lifestyle Boomer segments.
GyPSii sees itself as a “mobile social networking category leader,” and intends to make deals such as this one to spread their message to an increasingly diversified audience.
The potential is seen as particularly vast in Asia as well as South America, North America and Europe.
The company intends to widen its availability on all kinds of mid range devices, to make the concept available to as many potential users as possible.
Social networking and location-based service trends already have a very significant share of the Internet traffic and are appealing to MID users.
GyPSii’s social networking application is intending to capitalize on these trends to expand its market rapidly, so that it can stay ahead of impending completion.
In addition to Moblin based Linux OS, GyPSii supports MID running Windows XP and Windows Vista platforms.
