Giorgio Armani and Samsung announced the new Giorgio Armani-Samsung luxury mobile phone at a press briefing during Women’s Fashion Week in Milan.
The device brings together high-fashion and advanced electronics. The exterior of the phone, its graphical user interface and audio user interface are designed with Giorgio Armani’s elegant and modern simplicity.
The phone features a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT LCD screen with a full touch-screen user interface. With a haptical UI, users can feel a vibration when they touch icons on the display.
Other features include a 3-megapixel camera, a music player supporting H.263, AAC+/MP3/WMA, MPEG4, AAC, e-AAC+ formats, a full internet browser, microSD type external memory slot and Bluetooth stereo headset.
The compact phone measures just 87.5 x 54.5 x 10.5 mm/85g - small enough to fit into the palm of you hand, and comes with a specially designed Giorgio Armani leather carrying case.
The phone will be available at Giorgio Armani’s flagship stores and selected mobile phone shops in Europe, from November 2007, selling for around £450.
The Giorgio Armani-Samsung luxury mobile phone is the first product of a partnership between the two companies, with further luxury mobile phones and LCD televisions expected to follow.
The mobile phone range will be produced under the signature label, Georgio Armani, and lifestyle brand, Emporio Armani, while the designer LCD television sets will be manufactured under the home interiors lifestyle brand Armani/Casa.
