The Tianyu B832 anti-theft phone has been released in China and Hong Kong.

The phone features dual-band GSM and innovative anti-theft features. If a thief steals the phone and changes the SIM card, an SMS message is sent to the rightful owner’s old phone number.

Provided the owner buys a new phone with the same number, they will receive the message with the number of the person who stole the phone. This information can then be used to track down the thief.

If the stolen phone gets back on the network, the rightful owner can lock it remotely from a computer so that it can’t be used.

The phone also includes a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display, and a 2-megapixel camera. It can function as a webcam once it is connected to a computer via the USB port. The Tianyo B832 has a built-in 2.5mm earphone jack, A2DP profile, flight mode, TV-out, and a microSD card slot that can be expanded up to 1GB.
