Sony Ericsson’s C702a Cyber-Shot camera phone features an innovative design which allows pictures to be taken in any position. It achieves this through the camera key and active lens cover which are positioned to allow users to stabilise the camera and take photos one-handed.

Steady grip materials help the user to keep the camera steady and a wrist-strap prevents the camera accidentally being dropped.

The handset features GPS and location-based imaging services, which automatically tag pictures with information about where they were taken.

Sony Ericsson’s other new handset, the C902i Cyber-Shot, features Face Detection and Auto-Focus, with which the camera detects and focuses on faces rather than the background.

Photo Flash technology is included to ensure high-quality images, even when lighting is poor. A BestPic feature takes nine photos in quick succession - the user simply selects the best image and deletes the others.

There is also an x-Pict story feature which adds music and transitions to a gallery of photos and creates multimedia slideshows.

The C902i has 160 MB of memory built-in memory and storage can be extended with the Memory Stick Micro (M2).

Both camera phones will be available from Q2 2008 in selected markets.
