OmniVision announces 5 MegaPixel CameraChip Sensor
OmniVision Technologies, Inc. has announced the first 5 MegaPixel CameraChip sensor incorporating the company’s proprietary 1.75 micron OmniPixel3-HS architecture.

The OV5630 sensor provides outstanding performance in low-light conditions, and will facilitate the development of high-performance camera phones providing top quality digital photography and video in a small form factor.

Volume production of the sensor is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2008.
