LG Viewty Sales Reach 310,000
LG has sold over 310,000 Viewty cameraphones since its release into the European market five weeks ago. This represents average sales of 6,300 units a day across Europe, beating LG’s Chocolate and Shine models.

With its touch screen interface, LG Viewty is considered a rival to Apple’s iPhone, although Viewty’s main selling point is its 5 megapixel camera and advanced photo features, while the iPhone is marketed primarily as a music phone.

While the iPhone is hugely popular in the US, it has performed less well in Europe, although O2, which is the exclusive distributor of the iPhone in the UK, claims that it is its fastest selling device.

Demand for the LG Viewty has been so high in some countries that supplies of the device are running low. Reports have suggested that the iPhone’s expensive price tag is putting off consumers in Europe, while the LG Viewty is significantly cheaper yet still stylish and packed with advanced technology.
