i-mate announces JAMA WM5 Pocket PC Phone

i-mate has announced its new JAMA Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA phone.

The slim, lightweight device is aimed at users who want a basic-level pda to help them keep organised and in touch.

Input is purely via the 2.4″ QVGA resolution touch screen and connectivity is provided with dual-band (900/1800MHz) GSM/GPRS and Bluetooth v1.2. Wi-fi and other forms of high speed data connectivity are not available on the device.

The pda, which runs on a 300MHz Samsung processor, has 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, a microSD memory expansion slot, and a 2.0MP camera.

i-mate provides its usual bundled custom applications, including add-ons such as the i-mate Profile Controller and i-mate Media Control Panel, which allows a user to access songs and videos directly from the device’s Today screen.

A complete set of Windows Mobile 5.0 applications is included providing full PIM functionality, instant messaging, and document editing.

The i-mate JAMA will be available during June 2007 in expanding global smartphone markets.
