Why trading in your mobile phone makes sense
Permalink: Why trading in your mobile phone makes sense by Brian Turner

A lot of people don’t realise that they can trade in their old mobile phones when they buy a new one.
While major outlets such as Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U may not take your old phone, there are plenty of companies who do.
For example, Mobile Phone Exchange has become one of the leading places in the UK where old mobile phones can be traded in.
The process is simple - you simply type in your current phone model, run a search, and it will tell you how much you could get paid when you trade in your mobile phone.
Phones belonging to all the major manufacturers can be traded in, such as Vodafone, Samsung, LG, and even Apple.
The whole trade in process makes complete sense - the amount of waste that would be generated by the billions of mobile phones currently in use being binned would be immense.
In an era where recycling is becoming an integral part of normal life, for many electronic products there are plenty of outlets for recycling the parts.
This is not least because the variety of different parts in any normal mobile phone can be pretty toxic to the environment.
Additionally, the degree of sophistication involved in many mobile phones these days - not least those with an inbuilt camera, as we’ve focused on here, means simply throwing away old mobile phones would be a staggering waste of sophisticated engineering.
In the meantime, if you’re thinking of getting a new mobile phone, it makes a lot of sense to find out how to trade in your old mobile phone first.
After all, there aren’t many recycling schemes that pay back.
