Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Company has launched the SG-2520, which it claims is the world’s lightest dual-mode satellite mobile phone. The compact smartphone weighs just 170g.
The SG-2520 uses cutting edge satellite technology and also features tri-band GSM and GPS, providing high quality and performance.
The smartphone is ideal for travellers, providing uninterrupted satellite telecommunication services in over 110 nations in Europe, North, Central Africa and large parts of Southern Africa, the Middle East, Central and South Asia.
The tri-band GSM feature allows operation on three different types of GSM networks: 900, 1800 and1900 MHz. This provides greater flexibility in high traffic GSM environments.
The GPS feature is a powerful navigational tool, providing improved personal security.
Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera, 1.9-inch screen, wide language support, 128MB memory, SD card expansion slot, Bluetooth, WAP and a talk time of up to four hours.
