Psion appoints Varlink as mobile terminal distributor
Psion Teklogix UK Ltd has appointed York-based Varlink as distributor for its mobile terminals to resellers, including the recently launched iKon PDA.

The iKon PDA features a 3.7-inch VGA display, integrated camera, built-in GPS, GSM / GPRS / UMTS connectivity options, Bluetooth, WiFi, a barcode scanner and a choice of Windows Mobile 6 Classic / Professional or CE.net 5.

Designed for durability, the iKon can withstand sandstorms, torrential rain and even falls from five feet onto concrete.

Psion Teklogix UK chose Varlink as its distributor partner because of its experience in meeting the needs of IT resellers. The partnership is expected to help Psion significantly increase its market penetration. Varlink already works with over 750 VARs and Solution Providers in the UK.

The agreement with Varlink is part of Psion’s new sales strategy. Its mobile computing products are now only available through authorised distributors and resellers, although the company will continue to sell its supply chain products directly.
