Samsung has launched the F490 handset, a touchscreen phone which will compete with Apple’s iPhone. The F490 features a 3.2-inch, 16:9 ratio touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera and HSDPA connectivity. It will be available exclusively with Vodafone in the UK.
The F490 is one of several new phones just announced by the company, including the F480, another touchscreen phone with a 5-megapixel camera.
Topping the company’s range of new camera phones is the G810 - an updated version of the G800. The new model boasts a 5-megapixel camera and 3x optical zoom. It also has GPS which was lacking on the earlier version, and a Symbian operating system has also been added.
Samsung has also announced a new music phone - the F400 - which has a 3.5mm headset, and a new business phone - the i780 - with a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen.
