Sun and Samsung co-developing iPhone rival?
Permalink: Sun and Samsung co-developing iPhone rival?

There is growing speculation that Sun Microsystems and Samsung are collaborating on a Java phone with more features than Apple’s iPhone, for a lower price.
A spokesman for Samsung in Seoul, Lee Soo-jeong, confirmed that the two companies have met to discuss the device, but said that no decision had yet been reached.
At the JavaOne conference in May, Sun revealed a Java-run prototype handset, manufactured by First International Computer of Taiwan.
The handset earned the nickname jPhone because of its similarity to Apple’s device and its Savaje software graphical interface.
