Motorola has beefed up its MC70 handheld computer with fast HSDPA and Windows Mobile 6.
The rugged MC75 smartphone is designed for field workers, with a tough rubberised casing that can be dropped onto concrete from a height of five feet without sustaining any damage, and a stump aerial for mobile communications.
The new 3G version includes a two megapixel camera and an IRDA infrared port - a feature that was missing from the previous model. The screen has also been upgraded from a QVGA to a full VGA display.
The device also features GPS, 802.11 a, b and g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
The basic model costs £1,348 excluding VAT for the basic model, while the top-of-the-range version costs £1,552.
