NowThen announces mobile picture sharing service

Mobile phone blogging service, NowThen, recently launched a mobile picture sharing service at www.NowThen.com which allows user to share photos with an unlimited number of other NowThen users for the price of one MMS.

Users can add pictures to an online journal on the site and send photos, together with a short caption, directly to contacts’ mobile phones. Images can also be uploaded directly from their PC.

As well as being delivered to each recipient’s mobile phone, photos will appear on the sender’s NowThen homepage.

NowThen was developed by Erin Laye and Kat Malinowska, marketing executives at online video service Blinkx. It was initially intended to be used as an internal tool to enable the company’s US and UK offices to communicate visually.

The popularity of the service led to the decision to launch it as a service to the public. The site already has 2,000 registered users.

NowThen has plans to eventually introduce ads on the site, and may also launch a premium version.

Users can register for the service at Nowthen.com, or by sending a mobile phone text message to 07983 111222.
