The launch of Orange UK’s SPV E610 Mobile Standard smartphone is expected imminently.
The phone was originally expected to be launched by AT&T in August 2007, as the SMT5700, but its release was cancelled due to concern that it would compete with the BlackJack.
The full specification is not yet available, but it is known that the E610 is a 2.5G device only, featuring Bluetooth but not WiFi, and a 2 megapixel camera. It will feature a full front-facing QWERTY thumb-keyboard like the Treo and BlackBerry.
The smartphone is manufactured by Chinese ODM Amoi. Details on price and release date are not yet available.
