Samsung launched the first ever 10MP camera phone, the SCH-B600, at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007 in Las Vegas. B600. It also unveiled a 3.2MP camera phone and several Ultra Edition handsets for the US market.
The SCH-B600 differs significantly from the V770 7MP camera phone - it is 6mm thinner and 10g lighter and includes mobile TV capability via Satellite.
With a 3x optical zoom, a 5x digital zoom, auto focus, and flash, the phone has all the specifications of a basic compact camera. It also features an LED autofocus to help when focusing in low-light conditions, music, video playback and a MMCmicro memory card slot.
The company’s new 3.2MP camera phone for the US market is the SCH-A990, which features Bluetooth connectivity, video recording, and V CAST to view video and V CAST Music to download music.
Samsungs latest additions to the Ultra Edition range are the SPH-m610, the thinnest clamshell available in the US at less than half an inch deep and the Trace, the slimmest candybar handset in the US, measuring 0.33 inches in depth.
Samsung has also announced plans to develop a limited edition The Simpsons Movie mobile phone. It will feature a yellow casing - inside and out - and will come preloaded with film content.
