At the CES event in Las Vegas Sony Ericsson unveiled the Z555 camera phone with gesture control, which allows the user to mute the ringtone with a sweep of the hand, when a call comes in.
When using the alarm feature, the same gesture can be used to put the phone into ’snooze’ mode.
The stylish, clamshell phone also features a unique diamond reflective finish in either Diamond Black or Dusted Rose.
To finish the look, a range of accessories are available, including a choice of four leather bags and three Bluetooth Headsets, HBH-PV708, HBH-PV770 and HBH-PV712.
The phone’s external display shows the user who is calling without having to open up the phone. In idle mode the external display is invisible.
The phone features a number of themes for the menus and home screen, and these can be set to change automatically with the seasons. Other features include an FM Radio and 1.3MP camera.
The Z555i is an EDGE/GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone, while the Z555a is an
EDGE/GSM/GPRS 850/1800/1900 phone. Both models will be available in selected markets from Q1 2008.
