Pantech Duo Review

Permalink: Pantech Duo Review

pantech.jpgA lot of devices these days incorporate two or more technology in one. Most users find this setup convenient and economical. The Pantech Duo is another one of these devices. This is built specifically with business users in mind. It has a good selection of office software and messaging options. It has a cool dual-sliding design that will entertain users of this device.

First of all, let’s take a look at its keyboard and navigation features. As a smart and business phone, these two features are very important. The Pantech Duo has the most compact keyboard design in any PDA phone out in the market. It weighs just 3.9 ounces and measures 4 inches high, 2 inches wide, and 0.8 inch thick. The phone sports an integrated QWERTY keyboard and has a dual-sliding design. Dual, meaning you have two options. Slide the front panel vertically and you will have the alphanumeric keypad, while sliding it horizontally, you’ll have the QWERTY keyboard.

This is great and all but some users might find this setup too cramped and too flat. Even so, users will find that typing on this keypad is very easy and usable.

The phone features a 2.2-inch screen and runs Windows Mobile 6. It does have limitations on its display since it only has a 2.2-inch screen. With that, opening office documents might be a bit uncomfortable but in urgent situations, it will be enough. The phone opens and edits Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, as well as to view PowerPoint slides and PDFs.

The phone doesn’t have a Wifi or GPS. But it does have a reliable 3G antenna. Voice and data signals are okay but the phone’s sound quality is only mediocre.

The Duo’s features aren’t all business. The phone also includes a 1.3-megapixel camera for photos and video clips, a microSD memory card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
