16GB iPhone launches in UK
Apple launched its upgraded iPhone, with a storage capacity of 16GB, in the UK today, doubling the capacity of the current model.

The 16GB phone is priced at £329 and is available in O2 stores. The 8GB version is priced at £269. O2 recently reduced its iPhone tariffs, bringing them in line with tariffs for other phones.

It is not known exactly when O2 will introduce business tariffs for the iPhone, although these are expected sometime in 2008. Business tariffs are already available in the US where AT&T is Apple’s distribution partner for the device.

The capacity upgrade brings the iPhone in line with Apple’s iPod touch, which is available as a 16GB model.

Apple still hasn’t revealed how many iPhones have been sold in the UK since the device was launched in November.
