Nokia ships N96 early

Nokia is already shipping its long-awaited N96 multimedia phone, despite announcing in July that the device wouldn’t be available until October.
Nokia claims that the Nseries phone takes mobile entertainment and communication to a new level.
The phone features the usual Nokia Nseries dual slider mechanism, but on the N96 the second slider is dedicated to the music keys.
With 16GB of internal memory there is more than enough space for storing tunes, and if this isn’t enough storage can be increased to 24GB with microSD card.
The phone has a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a 2.8 inch display for viewing pics, or watching live TV or video.
Internet connectivity is provided with either Wi-Fi or HSDPA at 3.6Mbits/s.
The N96 is retailing in Europe at €550 before taxes and subsidies. The US version won’t be available until the fourth quarter, unless of course Nokia decides to ship that one early too.
