For the past few articles, we have been talking about phones from well-known manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson and LG. Well, today we’ll talk about the E72 camera phone, release at the latter half of last year by BenQ.
This is going to be a quick review for this handset and probably won’t take much of you time. The BenQ E72 is an incredibly thin handset which measures a little over 1cm from the back to the front. Its so compact that you’ll have a hard time imagining how they crammed all those features into this slim phone.
The E72 is no pushover when it comes to style. Various design innovations were utilized to make this handset one of a kind. This includes design touches like indicator lights that gently pulse beneath a mirrored surface and a striking colored band that provides easy access to key functions, this is a smartphone whose looks are as smart as the technology gracefully wrapped inside.
It is very evident that this BenQ handset was designed specifically for professionals on the go. You will notice this when you get a taste of its different features. One of this is the comprehensive communication features.
The E72 puts five instant messaging networks—AOL, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and Google Talk—together on a single platform, letting you have multi-party chats over one or more networks. There is even an email feature that you can take advantage of, like the ability to easily record and send audio, as well as push mail, which automatically downloads and alerts you to new email messages. Best of all, all these communications options, plus free VoIP calls, are available over the E72’s high-speed WiFi connections.
Even SMS and MMS messaging is easy on this phone. It has dedicated buttons that takes out all of the hassle in navigating multiple navigation screens just to read or compose a message. The E72 also features easy-to-use voice commands and audio recording, giving you more tools to ease your communications.
The E72 mobile phone is a Windows 6 smartphone. Its Windows Mobile 6 Standard environment gives you access to your PC’s Outlook e-mail and calendars, with Microsoft ActiveSync keeping this important data, plus your contacts, in sync so you can access identical up-to-date information on both your PC and phone.
Given that, you have an idea that this phone is perfect for those busy professionals always on the move.
Now we go the the multimedia features of the E72. With the E72, you have a wide array of multimedia capabilities. You can enjoy streamed video and other online entertainment thanks to its E72’s WiFi connectivity. For photo fun, use the built-in camera, which can output images up to two megapixels, as well as capture and play back video in the popular MP4 and 3GP formats.
The E72 can also serve as an mp3 player with its support for WAV and WMA audio, in addition to MP3. To store all the music, video, and photos, the E72 supports microSD memory cards with up to 2GB capacity.
