Shropshire Newspapers Expand Mobile Content
Permalink: Shropshire Newspapers Expand Mobile Content by Alan Harten

That not so well known hub of high tech innovation, Shropshire, is under the spotlight as two of its newspapers Express & Star and Shropshire Star are to engage in a new mobile content service for their readers.
Just over a year ago the papers began to offer their rags as mobile websites. The papers are now taking the next step by activating new services and content available on mobile devices.
Paper owners Midland News Association have engaged Wapple to create the new services.
The papers want to offer mobile news, information, sport and entertainment content.
They are also keen to implement other services such as downloads of music and ringtones, alerts and local listings for events and jobs, and being a newspaper they are also motivated to introduce advertising integrated into the system.
